3 Women Voices

Women to women…. we are stronger when our mind, body and souls are in sync.

In today’s world, women are important to the family and society more than ever before. We have become the head of households, CEO’s of corporations, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, scientist, engineers, businesswomen, and a host of other jobs including one of the most important… a stay-at-home mom. We have certainly crossed all kind of barriers, but with all the advances we have made, we have had our share of challenges, too. In fact, in some instances, our challenges have tested our will and made us question our choices. Yet, as Maya Angelou so eloquently put it, “Still I Rise.” What a powerful statement and poem she wrote. It tells us that we can stand and overcome no matter what.

As I am writing this, I’m thinking about all the women who have found their plates full “trying to do it all, and be everything to everybody. And in turn, you have struggled with personal, family, relationships, and workplace issues that have left you stressed and feeling drained. Then, we’ll try to figure out what’s wrong after our health suffers or we have breakups or other problems arise.

Think about it, have you ever asked yourself… what am I doing and why am I doing this?

If you have asked these questions, then you are in the right place. We want to give you methods to help make your life easier, happier and more peaceful. That’s right, eliminate the stress!

Come join 3 Women Voices as we share our knowledge and experiences with you, along with other guest contributors, so you can get empowered with answers and a roadmap to live your best life with No Regrets or Stress.

I take it, if you read this far, then you’ve come to the right place. You are looking for change, insight, growth, fulfillment, motivation and information to help propel you to the best “YOU” that you can be.

  • Maybe you had no idea where or how to start creating change

  • Maybe you didn’t feel strong enough

Whatever your reasons are that made you feel doubtful, weak, or fearful; we want to help you turn it around. Let us help you reach your desired journey through the use of positive and actionable steps. It is our goal to help you be stronger, wiser, and happier while at the same time provide the comfort you need through your roadblocks. In addition, it is our mission to be your listening ear and shoulder to lean on whenever you need us. It’s all about sisterhood. We’re here for you!

IMG_2032I decided to unite with my friends in this blog because it is an honor to share in such a wonderful opportunity of encouraging others, in particular, women. As a woman, I know there are times when I experience moments of highs, lows, and even in-betweens, regardless of the relationship. Other women are enduring these same experiences. What better thing is there to do than to help, encourage, and inspire another woman? Treating that woman as you would want to be treated – so important!  I see no other solution on this journey as it will produce positivity and enhance a woman’s life, and everyone she encounters along the way.

Sometimes, we do not have the inner strength to encourage ourselves, and when that happens here comes a sister friend who steps in and provides that needed fuel, “love.”  God’s way of using us, and I welcome it!

My name is Rhonda Jackson, and I am a divorced mother of one son and twin daughters.  I am also a grandmother of three and have a spoiled Yorkie, named “Alex.” I have been employed since the birth of my son in 1986 – that’s 32 years to be exact, quite a long time as I reflect.  During those years, I worked at two institutions: University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University. I thrived and advanced in my positions, but I was haunted knowing I had never finished my college education. My son was born when I was 20 years old and a sophomore at Morgan State University. Needless to say, my life was changed forever.  He became my top priority, so I chose to withdraw from college in order to be the best mother I could be. By the time he reached age 11, I had married and experienced two miscarriages. Happily, in the year of 2000, I gave birth to twin daughters. Although both weighed slightly less than 4 pounds, they did not have major complications, I was thankful. I had blessings all around me, as I had no experience with taking care of two babies at one time, so I was thankful for all the help I received from my family.  My goodness, did I learn a great deal, and I’m proud to say I would never have changed a thing.

In the midst of raising my twins who are now embarking on their college years, I was able to return to school and obtain my AA and BS degrees, and I’m no longer haunted about what I thought was not possible. Perseverance brings rewards!

In knowing that fact, I have always had an interest in writing especially for a graded assignment. But what has truly changed my angle was receiving encouragement from my professors. They expressed a delight and enjoyment in reading my papers and recommended I continue writing and share my gift. Honestly, I had never looked at writing as a gift – it truly is such.  That was the open door for me to give unselfishly. So, with every writing opportunity that presents itself, I am encouraged, no matter the platform: email, text, newsletter, abstract, co-authored articles, and now blogging to help and encourage my fellow women. Never forget, we are in this together.

I decided to join my friends and start this blog called 3 Women Voices because I wanted to speak to the needs of women over 40 years old who have struggled with life issues: family, relationships, personal fulfillment, spirituality, money, health, self-love, and other issues related to women. I know for me personally, some of these areas have been challenging.

Despite the challenges, for most of my life, it has been a vision of mine to both educate and inspire women to dream in order to create a more purpose-filled life. With that said, I have found when I take the focus off myself and help others, then my challenges become easier and I become stronger in my own life. I believe when women are given the information and resources, the sky is the limit to their accomplishments; so, it is my intent to assist women in achieving goals and overcoming obstacles in their lives, just as I have in mine. In addition, I believe when women are happy, then their family, relationships and society is happier.

I am one of 3 Women Voices standing by to give you everything you need to win from the inside out. Let me introduce myself.

My name is Debbie Stokes. I have been happily married for 29 years and we dated 11 years before that, so I always say, I’ve been married for 40 years as of 2018. I have two daughters, two granddaughters, and a Yorkie named “Joey.” I have been employed by others, self-employed and unemployed. I have been sick, been a caregiver, and was a self-proclaimed counselor who helped people get off drugs through God’s interceding. With His help, they turned their lives around. As a beauty salon owner, I was a listening ear and advice giver to my customers. My mission was to always make them feel better internally, as I beautified them externally, before they left my shop. On occasion, I’ve helped some women through relationship issues. In addition to the above, I have been a house inspector, a property preservation specialist, and performed home improvement tasks. I have also been an insurance salesperson, taught investing, and had an investment club. Additionally, I started a church newsletter as a way to uplift and inspire others that looked forward to it once a month, and I know God was all in it. Above all that I have done in my life, what I’ve enjoyed the most, is spending time with my family. The smile I wear is genuine and it has been my goal to get others to smile and be happy, too. That in turn, satisfies my soul.

I love music, dancing and writing. Although everyone laughs about my singing and dancing, it’s okay because I do it for me and nobody else. The truth is that I really can’t do either one (I’m laughing now), but it makes me feel good. Last but not least, I have written a contemporary fiction novel that is due to come out in the next few months; so, I’m excited and truthfully, fearful at the same time. Yes, fearful, I’m saying with a smile. I have always been a behind the scenes person on the creative end, but now I realize that with being an author, I have no choice but to step out of my comfort zone. Remember, live with NO Regrets! Therefore, I choose to walk in my purpose as you walk in yours.

With that said, I’m ready to share all my knowledge and experiences with any woman who wants to listen and ride this boat with me. My arms, ears and heart are open to you.

nadine picWhen the opportunity presented itself for me to join forces in creating an avenue to inspire and motivate women over 40 years old, I jumped on it. As a woman over 50 years old myself with both good and bad experiences, helping others in this second journey of life was very appealing.

There are no right or wrong ways to get through this thing called life.  It is all about what we take from it. 3 Women Voices are committed to sharing real life answers to real life issues. From those moments that are filled with so much joy to the times we had to adjust our sails to get over the storms. This platform is designed to encourage and reassure that you are never alone.

Pouring into others is a big part of who I am because I have been blessed with so many mentors, advisers, friends and family that have been instrumental in my life. I MUST PAY IT FORWARD. I am very excited about 3 Women Voices and the impact it will have on so many lives.
