I’m not surprised about it being a struggle. Simply put, weight loss is a beast in so many lives and it continues to hold people hostage to guilt and defeat. The cycle is usually the same for so many until people find a system that works for them. Most will go through some or all of these: starving themselves throughout the day, skipping meals, falling off the wagon, trying to lose again, going from one diet to another, getting the weight under control, falling off the wagon again, and the cycle just repeats itself, causing people to lose hope in their weight loss journey.

The other day, I posted on my Facebook page asking people to give their weight loss tips to help others. I was blown away by the response, not because so many responded, but because so many had gone through a similar experience of struggling to find a weight loss system that would work for them. Then, finally some found one that did. So, I applaud all of you who have found something that works.

Now, that leaves so many who still struggle. In my post, there were all kinds of suggestions offered and I could feel people’s passion and beliefs in the systems, diets, and secrets they chose for themselves. And that’s a good thing! But, since I realized how many women still struggle with their weight, I knew I had to find someone who could empower women to take action.

When I came across Mylitta Butler, I felt compelled to contact her so she could share her inspiring weight loss story with you. She went from 304 lbs to 143 lbs without diets or joining any gyms. Mylitta Butler, CEO, weight loss motivator, and author. She has struggled with her weight since she was 19 years old. At her heaviest, she weighed 304 pounds, and was diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and found out she was borderline type 2 diabetic. That was her wake up call. After many attempts at different diets, she made the decision to take control of her weight, health, and her life. She shifted her thinking.

Once she changed her mindset, she came up with a plan of action to successfully battle her weight and the rest is history.

  2. What an encouragement! I lost 150 lbs too about 8 years ago after having the gastric bypass surgery. But I’ve slowly been gaining weight back this last year as I’ve slacked off in my healthy eating during COVID. I know I need to exercise and drink water but I just haven’t taken the steps to do it. This article reminds me of how far I’ve come and how much I don’t want to go back. Thanks girl!

      Congrats on your weight loss. That was definitely a great accomplishment. And this Covid thing has been crazy for so many but you got this! Take charge again and do what you know you can do…beat that struggle. I’m rooting for you.
