Are you ever afraid your children or grandchildren will get hurt when they play sports?
For instance, being overworked by an aggressive coach to the point of exhaustion, or the possibility of getting a concussion.
With that being said, I want to ask you:
Are you preparing your children to have a plan B and instilling the importance of getting a good education, just in case, they don’t get that scholarship to college or become a professional player.
All these things are necessary to be sure your children become well-balanced, productive, and caring people in society.
I have invited Tavon Mason, a community leader and coach to talk to you about how you can best prepare your children to balance education and sports in their lives.
Tavon Mason is a former NFL Wide Receiver for the NY Jets. After his tenure as a professional football player, he started an organization in his hometown where he gives back to his community. He is now CEO and founder of the Tavon Mason Loves the Kids Foundation (www.tavonmasonlovesthekids.org), where he provides mentoring and coaching to children through his programs that promote health, fitness, and education, in order to give kids hope and vision. He is also Vice President of the National Football League Player’s Association (NFLPA) Baltimore Chapter, and a published author.
In addition, Tavon has been a coach for different schools in Maryland, and was just recently hired to be the new head football coach for his alma mater—Woodlawn High School in Maryland.
