4 Reasons Why Being Positive Should Be Important in Your Life

Do you struggle with thinking positive all the time?

I think it’s probably normal for most people. For instance, when a life-altering event happens like a job loss, a death, or a foreclosure; in most instances, positivity is lost. Sadness comes to the forefront. Afterall, these events do change lives drastically.

What if I told you that you can still be positive even through the bad things that happen in your life. Yes, there are ways to look at things differently.

Now don’t get me wrong, you will struggle when you go through the death of a loved one, and that’s expected because you have to go through the stages and mourn in order to get pass the loss. However, even in this case, there is still a way to think positive.

Below, I will give you some reasons why being positive is important.

Helps to get you through adversities

We all know how hard it is to get through adversities mentally. If it’s not one thing it’s another. Unfortunately, many of us are conditioned to accept what we’re going through.

In my opinion, our difficulties and roadblocks don’t have to be our defeat. We are born warriors on the inside and champions at heart, and God gave us everything we need to fight with. Therefore, if we have everything we need, then the last component that makes the difference is our attitude… a positive one.

I know you’ve heard the phrase, “Attitude is everything.” The fact is when you develop a positive attitude, it helps you to face your challenges head on. So, instead of looking at the pain in your problem, look at the strength and the lessons.

Being positive also does these things to boost your life: it ignites your passion to do better, it improves your immunity, therefore, it aids in the health of your body. In addition, it instills a certain power in you that increases your belief in yourself.

Can change the attitude of the people around you

It is a fact, how you act or the things you say out of your mouth can impact the people around you, positively or negatively.

That’s why it is a must you practice positive talking. The last thing in the world is for you to be known as a negative person. A person who brings the ambiance of the room down.

If you are a person who can raise the tempo of the room, you possess awesome qualities which can bring about change in people’s thoughts, beliefs, and actions. That’s power. It’s important to be a change or impact maker ever chance you get.

Can help eliminate stress

Thinking negatively can have a drastic impact on your health. Stress can be a killer. That’s why it is vitally important you find ways to turn negative thoughts into positive ones… your health depends on it.

Anytime you find yourself drifting into a negative thought, you should try to combat it with something that makes you happy or feel good. Doing this will help to relieve your stress sensors, thereby, curbing the things that bring you down, or that weigh heavily on you.

In fact, it should always be your business to remove yourself from anyone or anything that stresses you out. You want to live your life as stress-less as possible. In the words of Art Williams, “All you can do is all you can do and all you can do is enough.” Repeating this quote whenever I was faced with obstacles out of my control has kept me from having stress for most of my adult life. What I have learned is if I have given it my ALL, which is the “best” I have at that time, then there is nothing else I can do but to just let it go.

Make up your mind to not choose stress.

Can give you a new outlook or prospective

Learning to be positive takes work, determination, and drive. You have to first want it, then believe it’s possible, then do what is necessary. The way you see and respond to things matter. Every time something bad happens, try to decipher the good in it. It should be your task to look for things from a good prospective rather than the negative in it.

No matter how much the bad hurts or how hard it is to see the good…. remember it’s there. Seek it out and find it. When you have a positive and new outlook on things your world can change, your problems can change, and your direction can change. At that point, you can create new opportunities that will cause you to thrive. New opportunities can influence your actions, which will lead to the things you aspire to have, be, or do.

When you are positive with your thoughts and actions, it does a few things: It prolongs your life, help to protect your peace, and has a rippling effect on those around you. So, practice being positive in all you do and set the tone for positivity in everyone you encounter. Whenever possible, be a light!
